It was really hard for me to make a decision to go to college for something that I love to do and start pursuing my REAL dream. For three years I was completing struggling at the college learning stuff that I didn't want and following my parents' dream for me to be some kinda accountant or whatever. I used to do photography and some sketches on the way, but I never really thought that one day I will get the courage to leave everything behind and start my new journey. I am really glad that I got to share these last two years with all those wonderful people that I met on the way. Every class was and is a new experince and is more and more exciting when I realize that it brings me close to my dream.
This assignment was really great eye opener for me personally. I never really acknowledged in public my weaknesses, but the first blog post really has put me in my place :) I looked at myself and what personality I have with another perspective. Now I know what I need to work on, and what I need to work on A LOT :) I never really brag about myself, because I prefer not to talk much but instead show what you can do so people can talk about you. And researching different websites I found out that you need to show that you are confident in yourself, you believe in your work and you are the best fit for the job! That's the attitude I want :)
I loved researching about different jobs that I might be interested in at some point in life. Really great discovery was that my two top dream jobs are not "dying", but more opportunities are expected to be open. So I am being very optimistic on this part, and I hope that my time will come.
I loved all of your guys' work. I got inspired a lot, and I've learned a lot. I loved our team assignments, even though at the very beginning I didn't grow fond of it. It taught me personally how to bring your best to the table, how to keep in touch and stay tuned with your team partners. And when the results turn out great - that's a reward that is shared between all of us, and it's so great!
This class was great, and I got a lot out of it!I believe that every single person has such a bright future ahead, and I refuse to believe otherwise! We just need to apply ourselves, decide what direction we want to go and then go for it. I heard this very cool saying "Fly toward your dream! If you can't fly, run toward it! If you can't run - walk toward it! Can't walk? Crawl toward it! Can't crawl? Lay your body on the ground in the direction of your dream" :)

I am very excited about my future as a photographer and designer! I hope that all works out well and someday I will get my dream job and have own company. I've been researching online different photography studios and artists in Seattle area, and so far I was stunned by the work of Yuen Lui Studio. This is creative group of photography artists based in Seattle, that does all types of photography: from the wedding, to newborns, kids, family, anything you like. They have their studios all over seattle and oregon, but also they are available to do photo shoots in Los Angeles,CA and San Diego, CA.
I don't know if they are hiring photographers right now, but I saw couple ads a while ago. I never really thought what would my questions be for them, because usually it's them who have questions for the one they look to hire. But I would love to know couple things. How many people had started this company and what equipment did you have have to start with? When did you know that photography is what you want to do and what inspires you? What was your motivation when you felt like giving up (or if you ever felt like giving up)? Do you ever look at other photographers styles and take some notes or details and implement them in your work?
I know those are probably very basic questions, or maybe they are not. I would be very interested in how they started out and what they had at the beginning. How the concept of the company appeared?
I would really appreciate those answers :)

I got a little lost on the website reading about all types of interesting jobs. Not only the ones in design field, but also in other fields that I know my friends or relatives work in. It's very interesting to see how some occupations are slowly dying, while others grow popular in a very fast pace. Jobs that I would be interesting in are these:
1. Photographer. This is my number one on the list. They sure don't make much ($29,130 per year), but I think these are average numbers. I know people that are making way more than that even after taxes and insurance payments. Good thing about this occupation is that you don't necessarily need Bachelor's to get hired by professionals. You just need to have good eye, editing skills, knowing of equipment and positive and outgoing attitude. The job is expected to grow 13% (about as fast as average).
2. Printing worker. I know it's not very much of a "design" creative type of work, but I would probably want to try this one out. I took Typography course this quarter and I really loved it. I think I can develop a good eye for it too. This type of specialist makes in average $33,150 per year, BUT the job is slowly dying. It's growth is -4%. But I think it would be fun anyway. Someone has to do this.
3. Graphic designer. This is probably the most popular occupation among students in MMDP program. They make approximately $43,500 per year and it's expected to grow 13% as well. I would love to get this job because it is very creative: to design websites, logos, posters, all the other creative stuff. Help companies and businesses to gain identity and become recognizable.
4. Advertising. This is my number one choice along with photography. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to work for advertising company to promote product and create advertising campaigns. People who work in this  industry make in average $108,260 per year, which is pretty cool :) Also the growing rate is 14% which is good too.

5. Editor. To be one you definitely need a bachelors degree. The growth is not quiet good - only 1%. But the pay is not bad $51,470 per year. Editors check content which is going to be published to see if there are any errors or misspells, plan the content for publishing, verify the information and work with writers directly. I used to be interested in writing at some point in my life, so I would love to restore this love some day if I get a chance.

When I was a child I always dreamed about being a teacher :) I loved what they do and my first teacher was the best teacher in the world! But then I grew up... and found out how much teachers are making. Then I changed my mind. lol anyway. I still respect teachers and their hard work for such little money.
I want to be a photographer. I love taking pictures and showing people how beautiful they are! I bought my first professional camera last year and I have my own business which is not an official business yet, but I make money :) I do family pictures, children, maternity, newborns, modeling, portraits (my special love). My dream is to start my own photography business, have business license, and everything that comes with it. Camera shows me things in different perspective. The way I see things through lens - many people don't see them that way. I am not bragging, it's just what I love.
Of course I want this to be my full-time job, that would provide for my family. But I realize that this type of business can be slow to pick up, since the main advertisement at the beginning is the word of mouth. The clients love your work, then they tell their friends, they become your clients, then they tell about you, and it goes on and on. You can build life-time friendships that way.

Hi, this is my first introduction post :)  And I need to tell something about my "work personality". I took the OCEAN personality test and I will post the link at the end. But according to it, I am uncreative and have narrow interests. Well, that's the first thing I must disagree with :) Even my husband sometimes gets tired of my creativity! :) I love art and photography in particular! I love creating things, I love painting, crafts! This part of the test's results I must disagree with. Another part is that I am neither organized, nor disorganized. Well, sometimes I can't keep up with my kids and keep everything in order, but when I am alone everything is kept neat, clean and organized. My workplace in particular. All my papers and documents are in separate folders with tabs for easier finding. So in some areas I may be a little disorganized but I am more on the other "neat" side :) I am also more on the "quiet" side, and this test got right. I like to listen more and take notes. I like to listen because that way I will get more details from customers in particular, which is needed in my photography field. I am not shying away from social situations, I just sometimes avoid them :) but I can get talkative when I needed. It's just my personality, I guess. I find easy to express my irritation with others. Guilty. Its just sometimes people don't understand simple things or don't mind their own business. And I usually choose who I can express my emotions to. I don't express them in a workplace, of course. This is a place when I just keep it in. Well, that's what this test found out about me.

If I would choose to add something about myself, I would say I am resolving conflicts very easy, and never refuse to admit when I am wrong. I am very good listener and keen to details (as it was said already). Well, and I love photography :)) I also love reading, I like different types of books. Depends on how I feel the day I read them. I love to try new things. I love to try myself in a new field as well.
That's about it, I guess.
